Biography

Brent is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and has been living in China since 1997. He began his career as a journalist for state-run news publication "Shanghai Star". Shortly thereafter he transitioned into real estate and now has more than 20 years of experience in the sector. In 2006 he founded Build with the objective of saving older buildings in Shanghai’s Jing 'An (静安) District and repositioning the assets within the commercial and residential markets. As CEO of Build Shanghai, Space Property Agency and Build Property Development, his projects and visionary developments have been featured in the global architectural press. His companies develop, manage, lease and assist property owners and their tenants in Shanghai. His investments span from mainland China to Hawaii to the continental US. Brent is a tireless philanthropist, serving on the Boards of Directors for Rotary Shanghai, Eglobal Family Hawaii (charity for orphanages in Cambodia), St. Francis Hospital Hawaii (hospice operation) as well as assisting multiple other foundations with fundraising and growth. Brent is a passionate supporter of the fine arts, an avid squash player and loves to travel throughout the world.
